
The Supreme Court of India on Tuesday asked the Government to clarify how it would safeguard the interests of small retailers after foreign retail giants like Wal-Mart set up their stores in the country. A bench of Justice RM Lodha and Justice SJ Mukhopadhaya asked attorney general Goolam E Vahanvati to explain what would happen to small retailers in case big foreign retailers adopt unfair trade practices to and cut prices to dominate the market. read more
