India’s exports grew for first time in nine months

After suffering decline for eight months in a row, India’s exports rose in January, according to fresh stats released by the commerce and industry ministry. Bringing some cheer to the economy, the ministry of commerce and industry on Wednesday announced that the country’s exports in January grew 0.82 per cent year-on-year to $25.5 billion. Though demand for Indian goods in the Western countries is still low, yet the rise in exports has definitely brought optimism among policymakers that the situation is improving. read more
